Diane started out as an associate member of the American Society of Bovine Artists but decided to try painting her own cows in her colorful abstract style. Long before even considering her cows as a subject, she has painted in a loose, colorful and playful style and her venture into painting bovines is no exception. Diane works primarily in acrylic on canvas with music paintings, pottery paintings, and her latest interest in painting animals, which she refers to as “critters”. The majority of her ‘subjects’ are the cattle on her ranch, as well as the wildlife. On every trip down to their hunting ranch, Diane drives through the pasture taking pictures of all the cows with their new calves, but especially enjoys taking pictures of her favorite cow, Daisy who loves to pose for her. Daisy is a Brahman cross with a Polled Hereford bull, so it’s interesting to see what each of her calves will look like.
